Yorktown Texas Chamber of Commerce
Mission Statement
To advance the general welfare and prosperity of the greater Yorktown area, so that its citizens and all areas of its business community shall prosper. All necessary means of promotion shall be provided and particular attention and emphasis shall be given to the economic, civic, commercial, cultural, industrial and educational interest of the area.
The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce, an extremely active, community-oriented, non-profit organization, exists to further the economic development of the community and aid in the promotion and development of local business, agricultural and community-oriented endeavors. The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce proudly sponsors and provides the community with numerous special events and activities throughout the year. The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce is an excellent source of information for visitors, newcomers and residents.

Opportunity:
To sponsor or participate in Chamber activities throughout the year, Christmas at the Creek, Memorial Day Ceremony, Chamber Banquet, Golf Tournament, Crops Tour, Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk-or-Treat, Market Days, Third Thursday, National Night Out. Teacher appreciation and other Chamber events.
Participate or Host Chamber Mixer or provide promotional material or items for Chamber events on behalf of your business.
To join the board of director as an active participant in promoting Yorktown and assisting directly with Chamber events.

Chamber Banquet
A great member mixer and opportunity to honor businesses who have reached a milestone anniversary, student of the year and distinguished citizens at Yorktown Community Hall.
Business of the Month
Businesses that are currently paid at a business membership level are eligible to be selected, at random, for Business of the Month. Includes signage, social media and print recognition.
Easter Egg Hunt
Community Easter Egg Hunt in the city park is always 2 Saturdays before Easter in the morning. Ages 0-12.
Memorial Day
Dewitt County Veterans memorialize our veterans and honor them with a ceremony. Hosted by the DeWitt County Veterans at the DeWitt County Veterans Center.
Teacher Appreciation
The Chamber welcomes the teachers with a breakfast and goodies from the chamber and members before the new school year begins. Assistance with offering breakfast items or goodie bag fillers is appreciated.
Wildcat Pride Support
August & September is the time to promote Wildcat Spirit supporting the Yorktown ISD youth programs. Show your spirit in Gold and Black.
Back to School Supply Drive
Donations in school supplies or monetary to purchase items to be distributed amongst the local schools.
Baskets, Bags & Boxes Bingo
A FUNdraising night with food, fun & games. Bingo, silent auction, table décor contest. Dates to be determined. Sponsorship opportunities available.
Yorktown Western Day
Yorktown’s annual festival. Community support and engagement is encouraged and necessary for the success of this event that brings thousands to our community. Since 1958.
Western Days Decorating Contest
Businesses & Residents are encouraged to welcome Western Days visitors by decorating their windows, yards or store fronts.
Western Days-Always the 3rd Full Weekend in Oct.
Trunk or Treat
Local businesses, organizations and individuals gather in the park and offer goodies to local “Trick or Treaters” from tables, trunks, trailers & tailgates. Always the evening of Halloween. Enjoyed by hundreds of kids.
Christmas Tree Forest & Canned Food Drive
The Yorktown Historical Museum creates a Christmas Tree Forest in the museum with the help of local businesses and organizations. Christmas Trees are voted on with canned goods to benefit the local YAMS project to help the local needy.
Majestic Lights
The Yorktown Chamber manages the “Majestic Lights” display in the park during the Christmas Holiday Season. This includes the pole ornaments, lighted displays in the park, creek bridge and creek. Contributions are accepted to increase and enhance current displays. Lights are turned on from Christmas with Santa (1st. Thurs.) through the Epiphany (Jan. 6)
Christmas with Santa
Local tradition is to host Christmas with Santa on the 1st Thursday in December at the city park with Santa. Loaded with activities, local church choirs, dancers, high school band, non-profit organizations and late shopping.
Santa for Seniors
2020 was the initiation year for providing gifts for the seniors. With the cooperation of the Yorktown and Cuero Nursing Homes 2 carloads of various recommended goodies were delivered to the home’s residents. In 2021 the Senior Housing Authority residents benefitted, also.
Punch Card Promotion
Shopping local establishments gives shoppers the opportunity to register for Gift Cards courtesy of YCC and Yorktown Economic Development Corporation.
Entrepreneur Workshops
It is the intention to occasionally provide mini workshops for businesses. Suggestions are welcome.
The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce, Inc., a 501(C)6 Corporation meets the last Monday of the month at 6 PM at 141 S. Riedel, Yorktown, TX 78164.
