Arrowhead Artifact Exhibit at Western Days

In Cowpoke Canyon **

Arrowheads and Artifacts will be on display in the Chamber of Commerce Office.

Come see findings from a people who lived in and around this area many years ago.

Some of the items on display have been authenticated by experts in the field.

Lil’ Wrangler Stick Horse Rodeo

Saturday, October 16 - Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. in Cowpoke Canyon **

Stick Horse Contest at Western days

No Entry Fee

The Rodeo is open to the first 40 boys & girls registering between 3 & 8 years old.

Events include:

Best Western Dressed Cowboy, Best Western Dressed Cowgirl - 1st, 2nd, 3rd place ribbons are given in each age group

Pony Express:

Running a timed course on a stick horse. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place ribbons are given in each age group

Calf Roping:

Putting a rope hoop around a stick calf and ringing a cow bell. This is a timed event. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place ribbons are given in each age group

The Saddle Bag:

Contestants run to a tub & grab a bag containing a participation ribbon & a goodie.

Everyone is a winner!

Kids are welcome to bring their own stick horse or use one provided by Western Days.

Mutton Bustin'

Saturday, October 16 - Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. in Cowpoke Canyon **

Competition begins at 2:30 p.m.

$20 Entry Fee

This Event is open to boys & girls weighing 50 pounds or less.

Each Contestant must have a signed waiver from a parent or guardian.

Each Contestant must wear a protective vest and helmet that is provided.

Children are placed on the back of a sheep in a chute. The chute opens and the ride begins until they fall off or time expires.

Winners are chosen according to their judged ride.

First – Second – Third Place Awards will be presented.

A fun time not only for the contestants but for parents, grandparents and all spectators.

Bring your camera for some great pictures!

Pig Scramble

Saturday, October 16 - Registration begins at 2:30 p.m. in Cowpoke Canyon **

Competition follows Mutton Bustin’ around 3:30 p.m.

$10 Entry Fee

This Event is open to anyone between the ages of 5 and 55+

Each contestant must have a signed waiver.

Contestants are divided up into age groups

Contestants line up at a starting line. When the announcer gives the signal, contestants run to catch a pig. The first contestant to bring a pig into the winner’s circle is declared the WINNER.

First Place Awards will be presented in each age group competing.

This event is a squealing good time not only for our youth competing but for "no longer youth" competitors also!

Kids Tractor Pull

Sunday, October 17

Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. in Cowpoke Canyon **

Competition begins at 1:30 p.m.

No Entry Fee

This Event is open to boys & girls between the ages of 3 and 10.

Each Contestant must have a signed waiver from a parent or guardian.

Age Divisions: 3 & 4 year olds

5 & 6 year olds

7 & 8 year olds

9 & 10 year olds

The event involves a starting line and pedal tractors.

Each contestant has 30 seconds to pull.

Pull is over after 30 seconds or if the child's foot touches the ground.

The distance pulled is measured. Winners are determined by the farthest distance pulled in each age division.

Contestants age 7 to 10 have a weighted sled hitched to the tractor

First - Second - Third Place Awards will be presented.

A test of strength and a good time of competition.

Be ready to capture some Tractors in Motion pictures.
